This article will explain how to setup and configure CalDAV and CarDAV for the iPhone and iPad. These protocols can be used to synchronize contacts and calendars. NOTE: for ease of configuration on iPhone/Mac the system admin should setup a CalDAV and CardDAV SRV DNS record. This is what makes the iPhone/Mac auto discover settings.
CardDAV for iPhone
- Open the settings application.
- Select Accounts & Passwords.
- Select Add Account.
- Select Other as account type.
- Select Add CardDAV account.
- For server, type yourdomain.com
- Enter your full e-mail address for User Name, and then type your password.
- Select Next.
- If your mail server does not support SSL, a warning will be displayed. Select Continue.
- If the iPhone is unable to verify the account information perform the following:
- Select OK.
- Select advanced settings.
- Make sure Use SSL is set to OFF.
- Change port to 80.
- Account URL should be: http://mail.4cloud.ca:80/WebDAV/
- Go back to account information and hit Save.
- Your contacts will now be visible in the Contacts application
CalDAV for iPhone
- Open the settings application.
- Select Accounts & Passwords.
- Select Add Account.
- Select Other as account type.
- Select Add CalDAV account.
- For server, type yourdomain.com

- Select Next.
